This is What We Believe

Bible – We believe the Bible, both the Old and New Testament, is the inspired word of the living God, inspired through His Holy Spirit.  We believe that the Word of God is unfailing, incorruptible, indispensable, indestructible and without error.  We believe that the word of God is the complete revelation of His will for our lives.
(Reference:  II Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12)

God – We believe there is only one true God who is eternally existent.  He has revealed himself as the Father of all creation.  He has been revealed through his only begotten Son, Jesus.  He continues to reveal himself through the person of the Holy Spirit.
      (Reference:  Deuteronomy 6:4; I Corinthians 8:6)

Jesus Christ – We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, that he is coeternal and coequal with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit.  We believe He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died a vicarious death, and had a miraculous bodily resurrection and ascension.  We believe that through His words and works; He came to provide salvation and restore men to fellowship with God.
     Reference:  Matthew 1:20-21; John 20:30-31; I Peter 2:24

Holy Spirit – We believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit has come to convict every man of sin and regenerate the believing sinner.  He came to baptize, indwell, comfort, guide, instruct, seal, and empower the believer for godly living and service in holiness and love.
     Reference:  John 16: 8, 13, 14; John 14:6; Acts 1: 18

Salvation – We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell through disobedience.  We are born with a sinful nature and separated from God.  Salvation has been provided for us by Jesus dying on the cross and being raised from the dead.  Those who repent and believe in Him are born again and receive the gift of eternal life and become the children of God.
     Reference:  John 3:16; Romans 10:13; Ephesians 2:8-9

Church – We believe the true Church consists if people who have asked Jesus to come into their lives and forgive them of their sins, have been baptized by the Holy Spirit, and by water.  We believe they are eligible for membership in the Kolmont Community Church.  We believe the Church is to advance the kingdom of God by witnessing and worshiping.
     Reference:  I Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 4:4-6

Ordinances – We believe in the Lord ’s Supper and baptism by water (IMMERSION).  These are ordinances, in the scripture, ordained by the Lord, to be observed by the Church.
     Reference:  Matthew 28:19; I Corinthians 11:23-26

Family – We believe that God calls us to ways of life, that of remaining single or a faithful heterosexual marriage.  We believe that marriage was instituted by God as a sacred and permanent covenant between a man and a woman for the purpose of companionship, enjoyment, completeness, fruitfulness, protection, and illustration of his relationship with the Church.  We believe the parents chief responsibility is to raise their children in love and to serve the Lord.
     Reference:  Genesis 2:18, 24; Genesis 9:1; I Corinthians 7:8; Ephesians 5:21-25; Proverbs 22:6

Future – We believe that Jesus is coming again to establish his Kingdom, and to judge the living and he dead.  We believe in the resurrection of the saved to eternal life in heaven and the resurrection of the lost to eternal damnation and Hell.
